Greeting all. I've been reading comments on here for a while and this has been a great resource for my chicken etc questions.
Now - I have this week, newly hatched chickens, ducks and guinea fowl so I'm sure I'll be on here more.

About me: I've raised ducks and quail before. This is the first time for chickens and guinea (yes, I know guinea are loud).
I live in the country on a lake so we will see how well we do with the various critters that also live around here. Especially the resident hawk nesting next door. Alas, it's a covered coop and a chicken tractor in the future for the bird's protection. Right now, they are in brooder boxes nice and snug in the mudroom (That's the back door entrance hall)

I have Rhode Island Reds - and because the person I bought the eggs from wasn't too careful, I also have a couple of black chicks and one yellow. I have no clue what they will mature as. I have lavender and white keets and mallard ducklings. The duck eggs didn't have a good hatch rate but we'll be fine with the two we have. May try to incubate more in a few weeks.

Thanks for the previous help and I look forward to being an active member here.
