Newly hatched baby silkies plus one Pics

These were hatched two days ago. All the blues are from JimnJay. One blue Orp from mine and Some Buffs from Jaynie and some from my flock and the whites are mine. The ones that look a little splashish are actually whites with the silver gene.

Yesvery cute babies! I have yet to hatch any silkies (mine were about a month old when I got them). What is the 'plus one chick'? I noticed it but I'm really bad at telling breeds when they are itty-bittys!

Plus one is a blue Orp. I know yall can't believe this but I have three more doz in the bators. Silkie babies for Spring. I may have some eggs to sell for the next few weeks if they keep laying in this cold weather. So far so good. The cold wind is awful today. It is blowing in some more cold weather. It is just 44 on my backporch this morning but the Sun in shining.

How cute is that Julie? I had two white chicks hatch in my last batch and I don't have any whites. They were marked buff so I don't know what that is all about. I have never had a white one pop up yet. They are 5 weeks old now and not showing any color yet.

I have pips on the Faverolle eggs due to hatch on Thursday. These are standards so I am pretty jazzed. There were 16 eggs shipped FedEx ground and 14 are developing. There are two Silkies in there too.

I hopw those buffs turn out ok for you. Dang, No Blacks? What will it take for us to get some black ones. You would think it would be 50/50 but it never seems to be that way for me.
