There is no vet around here that will take poultry must less a newly hatched chick, and what exactly are they gonna do, tell me hes blind? think I have already came to that conclusion myself lol
Tonight in the box with other chicks, seems to be doing good so far, he sticks close to the other chicks and i got him to drink a lil, going to work on eating tomorrow
in the pics it looks like he has "eye lines" where the eyes should be, but he doesnt he has absulutely NO eye features, his face was still a bit wet from showing him water
He may just make it. Seems like a good size for being newly hatched as well. It's good that he's taking water. I would definitely suggest keeping his food and water in the same place all the time so there's no confusion. I'm praying that he makes it, but if he doesn't that he won't suffer.
I've raised several chicks with no eyes/one eye/blindness. It's difficult but if they have the will to live, they will make it. I have a one-eyed cross beak rooster right now who is the craziest rooster in the yard but you gotta love him lol. They definitely pull on your heart strings. Best of luck to you both!
Awww... already pulls on my heartstrings and it's not even mine!
Though I imagine the challenge with raising a blind chick, I'm not sure I would have as much luck, especially with mine & husband's work schedule.
Good luck to you!!
By the way, I love the poster who talked about having a little handicap coop. That's adorable.
