Another Update,

Duster is still doing GREAT! He lives with a quail buddy and I still have no idea if it is a hen or roo, No crowing, No eggs yet, he is almost 7 months old!

Also, a few months ago I had sent a few of his photos to Ripleys believe it or not, and I got a email a few days ago asking for Bigger photos so they can use him in their 2012 annual book! Yeah its not like famous or anything but im proud of it!!!

Sending the photos to Ripleys right this moment, once im done sending em ill resize em and post em here!

I love handicap chickens, they're always soooooo sweet. I had a B.O. that hatched normal but later developed a crooked beak and then became half blind and was under-weight. She loved to be held and she was very light and fun to carry. Her eye became worse so I started giving her raw egg every morning when I let them out. She also had a kind of limp when she walked, but she seemed to get better. Anyway she disappeared during the day one day and I never saw her again, No trace was left, not a feather. I think she wandered into the woods and got eaten. I really miss her.

Wow - loved the video, and what a great story! (except for the part about the neighbor's dog - I'm so sorry for your loss - that must have been devastating)
That's a beautiful chicken! Wonder if s/he is going to be genderless, given the eye malformation - maybe, given the genetics stuff. Love the name, and am so excited for you about the Ripley's book!!! That's fantastic. Like everyone else, I can't wait to see pix. You've done an amazing thing with Duster. Reading your thread has been a perfect end to my Christmas day. Thanks so much -
