My chick that hatched yesterday is still attached to its egg, it drags the shell along with it and it is getting stuck on the other eggs, which concerns me because it was born with a very small portion of Unabsorbed yolk and I am worried about the umbilical cord pulling it out further. How should I help my chick? It is still acting like a normal chick, but is just getting stuck on things because of the shell.

Leave it for a bit. I had a chick with the bottom shell still attached to her butt... She walked (stumbled) around a bit in thr incubator and it eventually came off. If it's been a while, you might need to ask someone else

I already clipped the cord and she is doing okay so far, but I noticed one splayed leg, I tried putting a brace on her but she got it off somehow. Any ideas?

What did you use as a brace? My chicks just had sprayed leg and it was fixed easily by a bandaid. I made it tight enough so they wouldn’t slip out but loose enough that it didn’t cut off circulation.

I used a straw and a rubber band and also tried making a little wrap for the leg and then took using this athletic skin tape, and folded it on itself to tape the legs somewhat together ish to imatate the straw thing she picked the straw off and everything else she couldn’t walk in
