Newly hatched chick with feathers 'glued' to it's body. Any suggestions???

Get another so that it doesn't get lonely. You are right about social birds. It helps them stay warm too and I found when I got my chick friends it peeped less :)
 
I would get it a friend but a very young one that way the new guy doesn't pick on her.
