The chick just hatched 2 hours ago and she has a fluid filled area just beneath her skin just to one side of the vent. It's about the size of a dime. It is not yolk or the umbilical cord. Will this slowly decrease in size and be absorbed naturally?

Is the chick acting normally otherwise? If it is fine otherwise, I would just watch it for a day or 2, but I'm not an expert. Maybe somebody with more knowledge will answer.

Yes, everything is normal otherwise. I would think it will slowly be absorbed and will plan to just keep an eye on it. Just thought maybe someone else had dealt with this before.

Good to hear that. It certainly isn't bothering her or causing difficulties. She is a strong chick!
