Newly Hatched Chicks with weird Freaky Eye.... EEEEWWWW

This is a little bantam from some eggs I picked up. The eye is huge on this side or actually it appears to not really have any eye lid. It seems fine otherwise. I can't really assess it until the hatch is done.
I am just wondering what might cause it? The parents were show quality so I don't think it is genetic. It's just really weird!!!!

You told me these had been refridgerated by the person you got them from, right? Could that maybe have any bearing on deformation of chicks?

Maybe someone on here could clue us in.

Wow!!! have you seen it blink or close its eyes at all on that side? I would say if not then its definatly a deformity. Wait until anouther one hatches and see if it has the same thing.

I had a chick hatch that I thought had an eye issue. After I pulled it to look at it I realized it was just a stuck lid, I wet it and it was fine.
Hope it does OK

I'd wait till she's fluffed up to tell-- ours looked like that, and once dryed out and fluffy, didn't look "wrong" anymore!

I hope it is just an optical illusion, but I honestly don't think so. Can't do anything until the hatch is done, I got some pretty special eggs in there they are cool breeds and from a special friend
