My new baby just arrived at 10:10 tonight :love first time ever using an incubator. I am wondering about the stuff on it’s head. Do i clean it off or will it fall off on its own?? I don’t want to harm the baby by opening the incubator if this normal.

It will come off and if it doesn't you can wipe it off with a dry paper towel when you take the poult out. It is definitely nothing to worry about. It is just gunk from the egg.

Just looks like what I've always called "egg goop" just stuff from them hatching, it'll probably come off or you can take it off gently, it shouldn't harm the baby though <3

Thank you! I also noticed the toes are curled too. I’m guessing this is normal from being squished in an eggshell for the past 28 days? Dad turkey has a bum foot that is completely curled and can’t roost because of it.

Depending on how curled and if they don't uncurl themselves you may need to make a little 'boot' for 'em! theres tons of detailed guides on here talking about how to make them, I've only dealt with splay leg, not curled toes, sorry :'(

Could be genetic , I wouldn't breed him any more . Cute poult 😍

Toes were not curled this morning :yababy looks great and seems to be doing just fine, waiting for sibling to arrive. He/ She has been named Sprout:love
