Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,
I joined this site just so I can ask about my poor little chick. My boyfriend's Dad had some baby Bannie chicks hatch this morning, when we went to see them, one had gotten out and looks like it was pecked pretty bad on both sides of it's head. I being the total animal lover I am, took her home. I have her under a heat lamp nice and warm. She seems to be peeping okay, I had her drink some water and she did so okay. I cleaned up her wounds the best I could with some warm water and a q-tip, I applied some plain neosporin to her. She is keeping her eyes closed but she is responding to me. So I want to help her, what are some things I can do to help heal her? Her wounds are pretty deep, but they appear to be healable. I myself have 2, 4 month old hens I raised by hand, and 2 3 week old bannie chicks. All of our chickens are pets (not for food, except eggs), and i'm pretty new to the chicken world. I really just want to help this little one heal. It broke my heart today seeing her this way.
Any advice would be wonderful, I want to see her make it. (I'm going to keep calling her a her for hopeful thinking that she is a hen)
Thank you!
