Newly hatched..

my chick just hatched this morning and its unbilical cord didn't heal. Or is this mushy chick disease?? How can I help it?

I really can't see much with these pics.
The first one looks like the vent(butthole).
Sometimes the umbilical area can be a bit funky, but most close up just fine within 24 hours.

So the chick is active? Hopefully angry and squirmy? It looks ok to me; some times the umbilicus takes a bit of time to heal. Just keep an eye on it for bleeding/discharge.

Doesn't look bad. I'd not worry as long as it's active and eating/drinking.
