Hi everyone Inhave been a lurker for quite sometime and finally decided it was time to come out from behind the brooder:D

WA is where I grew up but I lived in Alaska for 26 years. I finally was able to migrate back down south but this time time to the Eastern part of the state and I am happy to be back "home."

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am new to raising chickens myself - but have been a sideline chicken human for years. My husband has raised more chickens then he can count ( he claims;) )

My chicken rap sheet:
5 barred Rocks
4 silver laced wyandottes
4 black star sex link
5 Ameraucanas (strongly suspect EE)

Thanks for all information here, I appreciate all of it!

Hi Carla, very nice to meet you. If you got your birds from a hatchery or feed store, you can bet they are Easter Eggers. There is nothing wrong with that, they are good layers, very popular and kids especially like the pastel eggs.

If you ever do want to know about birds you have - post photos at "what breed or gender is this."

Thank you for the welcome drumstick diva. I bought them at North 40 so yes they are hatchery chicks. What hatchery I don't know because whenever I ask them (and I have asked several times) they "don't know." Right........

I did just post on what breed/gender is this. One of my barred rocks I don't believe is going to be laying any eggs for me.......
My silver laced will be posted in another day or so I can't make heads or tails out of what gender they may be. I know they are "suppose" to be pullets but like my barred rocks ..... There's always the margin of error!
