Next Spring Chick List!

I can't decide if I want to do in the fancy egg direction (Americaunas, Salmon Faverolles) or if I want to go for quantity and ease and just get a bunch of sexlinks. I like the idea of being sure to get no more roos, because I have one beautiful roo now and I don't want to mess things up with him.

I enjoy the idea of rarer breeds, too, though. Maybe five-toed Dorkings? Or Cuckoo Marans? Or maybe just a beautiful flock of Buff Orps.... ah, I love dreaming about chickens...

Im not waiting to get into chickens untill next spring. My baby chicks come next week in the mail should all be poults I got 8 they will live in a chicken tractor in my big suburban backyard (2.5). I orderd 2 cuckoo marans 2 aracanas 2 salmon Favorells 1 silver laced wyndotte and 1 golden laced wydotte. I think this should make a pretty good flock what do you guys think?

thanks Henry

I want blue and black Orps, Ameracaunas, and I am totally in love with the Silver Phoenix!

I have a few others that I like but best to start slow...maybe my husband won't notice the extras in the coop.

I'm going with what I can get locally. Shook Poultry is just up the road so I think that is where I'm going. I can get another 12 between my 2 coops. I'm looking at a mix of 2 each Light Brahama, Araucana, Buff Orpington, Partridge Rock,Silver Laced Wyandotte, Golden Laced Wyandotte. Also going to finish off the order with 13 Cornish X's and give raising meat birds a try.

I've alreay got 5 Black sexies and 3 RRI's.

I really like bantams best, so

mille fleur d'uccles
porcelain d'uccles

(how is d'uccles pronounced anyway?)

grey japanese
SS hamburgs
golden laced wyandotte (for my son) standard size
variety of bantam wyandottes (for my son)

The standards will be pullets and kept together
Bantams separated by breed

Quite an assortment to go with my current 46,
don't you think?
