this i hate to hear, hate that your going threw this, and you should stop in and see us even if you dont have birds, we love ya

Wendy , the guineas are all settled into their pen, are they both males, both females or one of each for definate?

both are really pretty and loved getting spoiled with ears of corn.

well, see, i dont do guineas, but i did notice that one has a white feather in wing and other does not, thats the difference that i saw, but again, no clue. glad you like them, crazy birds

LOL difference in wing color, ( ie: the white baring) means nothing when sexing them,
they are 2 different colors, one is a royal purple and the other is a pearl. thats where the white wing feathers come from.
a few more weeks will tell if they are males or females. or what of each is. ( oh yeah that makes me sound smart huh?)

LOL the eggs came from jen, not that she could sex them in the egg, but maybe she has a clue color, etc, lol

Doesnt matter if they are both cocks or not there are20 eggs in teh bator and I am sure there are a few hens in there,
um maybe better rethink that , was told turkeys were mainly hens and out of 9 turkeys there are 9 boys, yippee lots of turkey day dinners.

Wendy,

Thanks for the great birds! The Australorp is now known as Ahsoka and the Java is well.......

"Java the Hut". OK, that has to have been done before. They are both seem sweet enough and will be quite spoiled and really feeling it in a week or so when their brand new coop is completed. They are living in a chicken tractor right now which they are MUCH happier with since my DH nailed a roosting bar in place this evening. Both girls were determined to sleep on top of the waterer and I wasn't going to let that happen (I just cleaned everything!!!). I am keeping them separate from our flock until they have time to adjust and settle in.

Thanks again,
Erin

hey Wendy, great minds think alike! I pm'd nhnana last night and had her hold some barred babies for me. You got the ones I did not want. I took a couple that were a little older and feathered. I decided on barred smooth to breed to forests son. I love the ones you got but did not want to set up a brooder. I also picked up a beautiful splash cochin. thought it would work with frosty as his mom is blue.

I am glad everyone is happy with their little frizzles. They have all been outside for almost a week in the pen in one of the plastic dog crates. I probably wouldn't have put them out there yet for just a couple but as you saw, I had plenty of little ones to cuddle up to to keep warm at night. I do have one more frizzle banty that I didn't bring today. She is very pretty with the wild brown look on her top half and blue/grey on her bottom half. I can't wait till she starts laying. DH has already warned me that he doesn't want chickens in the bathtub all winter...........lol. That is where I always put the brooders. I wanted to buy Amanda's light brahmas for my daughter but by the time I made enough to buy them she had sold one. Now I am kicking my butt I didn't take the other one and a buff brahma to go with it. I just didn't want to get just one to put in the pen with the others to fend for itself. Chickens can be so brutal sometimes. I had a great day all in all. Thanks everyone who bought some of my chicks.
