but the little mix is so cute! yes I know I am a bad influence, just ask darlene. she got alot of chickens and oh yes a bunnie when I was around. seriously, thank you both for the 2 I brought home. they mixed right in with the others I got from you. I have a feeling it would be dangerous for me if you lived closer!!!!

Great to hear

OK, she (we hope) is cute. What is she? Sarah named her KC, RJ something like that will ask her in the morning, we just got everyone settled and the grain all unloaded, we made room for 6 more bags in the van for the trip home, with a deal like that, couldn't go wrong... We have actually been thinking about moving out of State, where are you again lol... Bryant just rolled his eyes and shook his head and didn't say a word, smart guy....

hey laura, the chick is a cross between a cochin and a silkie. so it would be a smooth sizzle. so do you want to move closer to me or farther away so you will stay out of trouble? did you end up with 8 bags total? it was a great deal. wish I could have used some. told jen about it and she bought some too.

Just out of Maine some days.......

Yep, that's what Sarah thought she was she named her "RC" so that will work for either sex I guess.

Yes, we got 8 bags. Very good deal, we mix it with the horse grain for the easy keepers just to give them something to forage and a schedule to be at the barn, saves a little on the grain bill for sure. They get free choice hay every little bit helps.

Need more swaps on Sundays too, just a thought

I bought three laying hens (from Wendy?) (cochins?) and between them they managed to lay FIVE eggs today!!!! I think one of the ladies has a calcium issue, as the egg was all wrinkled, but the shell was hard (????) Another egg was sort of chalky looking.

I think it took me about 8 days to get my last 5 eggs before these....What a treat! -Gail

hi Gail
thats great, i am thinking first thing that maybe if she layed more than 1 egg that that caused the issue as well, i believe someone who knows about eggs may give you good advice on what to ad to their diet oyster shells etc. sorry i am not much help in that but glad to hear your girls are doing well. will we see you in plaistow for the swap on saturday? at dodges agway corner of 125/county rd

Out of curiosity I checked out the link that Chickn posted...what a pleasant surprise, thank you Wendy, it reassured me that I do have quality seramas as the links on that thread have pictures of BluegrassSeramas birds featured on it!
