NH Roo w/ Buff Orpington Hens good mix???

Hey I was wondering if anyone had ever mixed a NH and Buff Orpington together to breed for hatching out eggs? I have 4 buff hens and 1 buff roo but the roo is so hard on the hens and pecks out their feathers and cuts them open with his nails so i was thinking of switching and letting my NH Roo do the work bc he's so much calmer and nicer with the ladies. Thoughts and Suggestions Please?! Thanks!!!

Yes, that was probably my favorite cross I've had. They were mostly ginger colored and seemed to have the best characteristics of both. I never kept them past the first generation.
