I live in Colorado on 5 1/2 acres and have a nice little flock of 23 mixed hens and one roo.

You have to have 10,000 square feet of land for every head though, and barns/stalls have to be cleaned regularly to prevent fly/mouse/rat infestation of neighborhoods.

Apparently they did change a little, now 1/2 an acre or less is still up to 12 birds but limited to one roo... also now the coop only has to be 50 feet from the house which is awsome for me because my yard isn't that big :S

Fort Worth is cool though.
