Ah philosophy questions before breakfast.... Yummmy. Of course, it's really never too late to learn something new...Learning curve for tinkercad is SUPER low (relative to Fusion 360, etc.). I've done a little design in different programs, so I'm sure that made it a tiny bit easier.
In the past, I didn't design enough to master / retain the more intense design programs, but now that I think about it, I've done so much stuff over the last 2.5 years for 3D printing, I probably should have put in the time for Fusion vs. Tinkercad.
I guess it's not too late, right?
