im looking to get a nigerian dwarf buck to breed my alpine/nubian doe. will the little guy be able to do this??

Depends on him and on her. If she's not got a strong objection to him, as a general rule of thumb, they will find a way to make it work. Give him little things to stand on, or a slanted paddock so she can stand downhill of him so he can reach, and unless both are utterly devoid of instinct and intelligence (unlikely with goats) they will figure it out.

I see miniature bulls around here all the time being crossed with cows more than twice their size and all it takes is a hill and a willing cow. They make good commercial meat crosses, you get less frame to cover and feed with more meat to bone ratio and feed efficiency in the offspring, much like bantam crossed with large fowl poultry.

If he's never mated before he may make a hash of things and she may get cranky and decide to never give him another shot, but that's just an outside possibility, not too likely.

Best wishes.
