Nigerian Dwarf Goat Kidding Question

My doe that just kidded showed no signs of labor even the morning of. I saw her in the morning before she had the first kid and there was no discharge, no hollowing out, no odd behaviour, nothing. Then 3hrs later my husband called me that there had already been a kid born.

Thank you all for your responses! All of my does have kidded before (all 13 of them! lol) Several of them this would be their third or fourth time. Several of them have also had triplets, so I'm kind of excited!

I'll update you all whenever I see kids!

I am new to having goats and just started with them this summer. I have 2 Nannies that are bred.

One i just got a month ago and i was told she was only 2 months bred, but she is bagging up,her vulva is very nice sized and she has lost her tail head ligaments, i brought her into a small pen from pasture last week when i realized she was acting really different. She was not tame at all and now she wants attention and everything. she is very restless and comes out of her stall just to see what my other Nanny is doing , or to eat when i give them grain. when in her stall or when i make her get out she is up and down and scratching at her sides and doesn't stay still. even in her stall she is up and down alot. Too me having worked with cattle she acts like she is going to kid soon, but i truely don't know.

My other nanny i had in with my billy for 4 months but i only saw him breed her 3 months ago and then again about 2 months ago. This Nanny is only 9 months old. She doesn't show to me if she is actually bred or not but my Buck is rented out right now and i don't have him.

I am really concerned about the Doe (Nanny) that i think is close to kidding, she is a first time freshener and i a worried abot nt catching her in time and not being around when she does kid. I love them to death as i bought 2 bottle Nannies just last week to raise on a bottle. I love my goat and love being around them. I have probably spent more time with them in the last week than i have worked. I am a nutrition consultant for Dairy,Beef,Cow-Calf, Goats, and sell some horse feed as well. with harvest going on still it has been slow at farms and i have spent most of my time with my new babies and my Does (Nannies).

I would just like to know what you think and if she is close or I have awhile yet before she kids. If anyone has any pointers email me or leave a post on here.

Thank you for your help.

Sincerely,
Jennifer (Jen) Parrish

OK, so no babies yet, but she has been losing her plug since Sunday, so i hope she kids soon!
