I am considering getting to Nigerian Dwarf goats....

I am looking for Pros and Cons of doing this.

Also any advice on fencing, pens, feeding them, caring for them etc.

I have been researching this subject and have read they can climb on house roofs and cars. Also they are great escape artist.

Any advice good/bad would be appreciated.

Thanks

any goat is an escape artist! They all need to be a herd, they all love to climb and eat everything!!

I love my nigerians cause they have the best feed ratio, take up little room, are cute as a button, their milk is sweet, mine are great with kids but we wish they were disbudded!!! They kick off twins and sometimes triplets, they can have blue eyes, they are silly~

Check mine out on my BYC page

They are sweet thats for sure but yes.. They truly are escape artists. I had Pygmy's and Nigies.. both are fun and can be a bit noisy. They are definately talkers.
I switched.. Now I have Oberhasli's. Though they are bigger they have never not once tried to escape like the smaller pygmy's and nigirians. Those buggers were able to wiggled themselves right under our pens. We had to add extra boarding at the bottom to stop that.
Oberhasli's are also much quieter. They talk some but not nearly as much as the pygmy or Nigirian.
