Nigerian Dwarf Pregnant?

They are out in a 10x10 pen with a large goat house (looks like an extra large dog house). The kid seems confused, but isnt crying or anything..As soon as i put them out there, and set the kid down, the doe wouldnt even pay attention to her! The kid didnt even try to nurse, just walked up to her and she butted the poor little thing to the ground!!
I did notice the doe is not even letting me touch her udders and she was letting me when she was inside..ill go try to milk her some and give you an update! Thanks so much for replying!

Well i tried to milk her..didnt get much because she wouldnt hold still..she dosnt have large udders at all..when i was trying to milk her she went after the baby...like she tried to bite her! She's acting weird and running from me...she is screaming her head off all the time, even with me out there..i dont know what to do..i hold her so the baby can nurse and she kicks, jumps and screams like im killing her. Its so strange, shes just acting like she dosnt know me and like she is frantic!
Its a huge difference between 9 this morrning and now.i dont get it..she was perfectly fine this morrning.

;you are going to have to tie her close up to a bar or pole, press her sideways against a fence with your body, and either lean over her back and milk her sort of up side down, or use your head to hold her, and milk her; try putting a bunch of sweet tasty hay and some grain in a deep bucket taht she can still reach inside of , to munch on while u mess with her...or get someone to help u hold her. tie her and have the person lift and pull one hind leg slightly forward so she cant really move, place a hand on her flank, talk to her... ive found a different method for each doe ive had, and some were real problem milkers or had medical conditons and i didnt always have help, and i am small... so i learnd all sorts of improvised methods. mine were in a herd, so sometimes we just needed the BFF of the particular doe (and they do have best friends, though they seem to prefer their own mothers/aunties/sisters/daughters near by). either way, u have to be a bit forceful.

take a bucket of warm water, or a bottle warmer with warm water in it, and put it on her udder (try to relax her, massage her udder gently, u can use coconut oil or olive oil or something else that is edible and not a petroleum product) gently massage her udder, and gently try milking a bit. the thing is, if u dont know how to milk, i cant teach u over the 'net, its just something that u learn... u have to kind of push up with your hand and then pull down a bit and sort of 'open the door' of your fingers to let the milk out.. the same way a kid would butt up on the teat and then drink. by no means should u pull on her teat as that wont do anythng. frankly, any woman who has milked herself, (or from la leche leage ) or some one who has milked before, might be able to show u... if u know how to milk, then skip this part.

since this is day 3 or 4, im sure its just pain from her udder being way too full she is anticipating pain... so u have to release a bit of the milk , but dont milk too much unless u want it for yourself, since the more u take out the more she will produce. aslo, make sure she is eating (some goats can get eclampsia, some breeds are more prone)... u may need help to just hold her, while someone else holds the kid to the teat and helps it suckle for a while, do this until she accepts the kid and the udder gets back to a regular amount of milk for the kid or the kid and your household... dont give in to easily, keep the kid on teh teat, scartch her bum above the tail adn have her do the milking... or try givng some in a bottle and some from mom, mostly force wins out...

does the doe not have any penmates? some does need their freinds around, and then they butt the friends to protect the kid... it creates a need to protect feeling in them.

keep an eye on her udder for mstitis although a kid nursing is the best cure. there is no reason a kid shouldnt nurse unless there is a horrible infection ..... good luck, maybe take them back in to the house for a while, til everything works out...

Im going to bring them back inside in the morning...i get milk from her, just not much cause i cant keep her still! i came inside for a rest, but im going back out right now to try again!!

Got more milk..but i dont know how much milk to milk out of her..i feel like im out there forever but i dont get much milk. I let the baby nurse for a bit..but i think mom has just completely rejected her..just dont get why on day 4..Baby will be coming inside tomorrow and will be bottle fed.she looks so sad and confused, its heartbraking.

My does don't let their kids nurse when the eat. Are there other goats around her? You can feel the kids mouth if wet she is nursing or feel the does bag if full it will befirm/tight you can milk a little out so the kid caN more easily nurse as someone previously stated.

I had to bring her inside...momma was being extreamly mean to her. I heard bangung noise last night and my doe had they kid pinned down in the water dish..
I have the doe penned up next to the buck (they are best friends) and the only 2 goats i have.

its fine to bottle feed the baby, if its a female, then even later in life she wont be problematic, but might not be a good mother either; however, im not so sure i would give up just yet on the doe; if u have the place and the time, try keeping the doe with the kid together where u can see them; separate when u arent around, together when u can keep an eye on them; sometimes the mean stage passes; some new mothers suffer from a kind of 'goat post partum' , but if u insist, they might bond, or at least get along ; if u can help the kid nurse, or even if u bottle feed, but with the doe next to her... if not, then u will have what i have done which is two baby kids sleeping in the bedroom (in the bed actually) with hubby for the first few nights, then in a box/crate near the dogs in the salon for another week or so; rather funny to have baby goats going up and donw aprtment steps for the fun of it...

dont worry, bottle babies are fun too...just make sure to either milk the doe or get goat sheep replacement milk and follow the directions, and then remember to scratch baby above her tail when she feeds, to promote suckling, keep bottles clean , and u can always move her to pan feeding (milk in dish) if u dont mind the mess (or u have a dog that cleans up after her)... the doe's next birth and baby might be more successful, or might be the same deal again.... either way, enjoy...(if she's back with the buck, he can breed her again)

Whole cows milk is fine for bottle feeding, too. Actually, a lot of people find that the milk replacers for goats cause terrible scours. Some people feed it with few problems, but others have nothing but problems. Whole milk cows milk, storebought, almost never causes issues. She may have to get used to cows milk though. If you can milk anything from the Mama, then mix it with the other milk you are feeding so it tastes the same.

The little girl may be resistant to the bottle. She is used to a teat, not a rubber nipple. So it may be difficult. Just keep trying, she'll get the idea that it fills her hungry tummy! Then she'll take the bottle with gusto. Bottle kids are fun to have around.

I bring her inside at night, and durring the day she is out with mom. She sucks on a bottle for acouple of secounds then stops..mom cries for her baby all night long, i bring her out in themorning and mom stops crying and just ignores the kid. Iv bottle fed kids before, so i have no problem doing it..it just seems like mom wants her when shes not there.
