Night light?

I read somewhere that the coop should have some lighting on at night, incase a chicken falls of a perch , so it can see to climb back up!
Anyway I'm sure millions of chickens manage quite well without one but I thought I might try a solar powered fence light, fastened to the coop above then vent hole
And it seems to work quite well

Nice solution you've got there!

I've wondered about light in the coop as well. I'll be kicking my babies out to the coop in the coming weeks and have read just as many "no, don't do that" as I have "sure, a little night-light won't hurt 'em much". I think I'm leaning more towards letting nature rule and just let 'em sort it out if they fail a gravity-check at o-dark-thirty.

Would very much like to read others thoughts on this topic.
