I don't know if I will sleep a wink tonight. I'm sleeping most of the day trying to regain some physical strength. I did work in a couple of coops this morning with a daughter helping me. It's a shame how we get old bodies but still have young minds that want to be busy doing and creating.

Guess I'll join you folks tonight (this morning?). Felt a bit icky yesterday all day, and finally at 5pm told my husband I'm going to lay down for a nap for about an hour. Even set my alarm so I'd get up to fix dinner and check on the chickens. Welp, that didn't work. I finally woke at midnight to a dark house. Dinner done and put away, dogs put in their kennels, chickens locked up, and hubby sound asleep.
And here I sit in the middle of the night, wide fricking awake.
Feeling fine after a bowl of hot chicken noodle soup and some frosty rocky road ice cream, watching through my window a thunderstorm roll in as I browse BYC.

What is everyone else up to at this hour?

I'm probably a bad one to ask.
I have 6 patients I'm wrangling overnight and they won't stay asleep either.
and neither will my dogs. I have one of them, a beagle, out of his kennel and laying at my feet, for fear of the thunder and lightning. Such a 'fraidy-cat! He once freaked out so much he got his upper and lower jaws stuck in the wire of his kennel. Nearly had to break his teeth to get him freed. Since then, I keep him with me during storms.
