Yay for chicks!

Now, the total is six out of 13 eggs. I think one more will hatch in the next two hours and then maybe some more overnight. The 21st day of my hatch was over about an hour ago, so now I'm into day 22. So far, so good!

Congratulations. Are they for eggs, breeding, or both? ...or maybe something else?

This morning (5/26/2011, day 22 of the hatch), I had three more chicks in the incubator. They were dry, so I moved them to the brooder box; now, there are nine altogether.

The humidity in the incubator was down to 50% this morning; I didn't add water last night because I didn't want a repeat of the night before when humidity went over 90%. I added water this morning and its back up to 65%.

The four remaining eggs haven't pipped at all, but I'll give them another couple of days. Nine hatches out of 13 eggs is almost a 70% success rate, but I am still hopeful for more.
