Quote: No offense to you at all but your school system yes. But that is the most rediculous thing ever.. why have a test at all!? Its not helping to educate you guys to see if you learned efficiently. Its only setting you up for failure. I am glad I homeschool my kids. And they learn at the pace they can handle so that I know they learn it well. I wish public schools would cater to that.. so many just get passed along and have it rough in life later because their education was insufficient

Yes! exactly! why are thy required to have these huge two day tests if they were designed to be passed!?!? last year only two people failed. TWO people! that's saying something, because like more than 500 people took the test

teachers can't do their jobs, cause parents don't let them have any power over their classrooms, balance is what is needed. Let kids fail if they don't get the material. find better ways to teach, make it easier to understand. there are lots of things that could be done

it's not just the parents.. but I find that the schools are sending a full days worth of homework home. what happened to doing any seatwork in class and the teacher seeing where the student struggles? Helping them do better? What happened to teachers aids assisting in class?

+ some teachers can't teach to where the student can learn
+ some students are just faster at learning some things than others

we could make a whole page of things that need to be worked on in public schools

Well a lot of kids are A+ students but have sports and such so they can't always keep up wih school work. Like I have always been an A (no trying to brag) student but when softball season came I had a B- in math. ( ) I do agree that teachers need to know where students are struggling or are ahead by a lot. My school and a lot of other schools have provided separate classes for those who are falling behind and those who are learning at a much faster pace. There are also kids who just don't want to be at school at all or kids who are afraid to ask for help. There was a study done on a few schools and when one person was brave enough to ask a question three others had the same question. Schools are trying to get more kids to not drop out but there is a chance of that still, so I think they are trying to give us as much information that they can before we can legally drop out. In Mexico, people only have to go to school until they reach 4th grade. After that their parents pay for schooling. As for teacher's aids, next year my school is offering peer tutoring for those who struggle. The students who do well will tutor those who don't. But due to school budget, more and more teachers are losing their jobs, which means bigger classes. Bigger classes mean that teachers have less one on one time to make sure every student is learning what they need to learn.
