Nippy duck- duck behaviour questions

We have dogs and cats and its a tap on the nose for them for unwanted behaviour.

Recently, one of our ducklings (Nibbler) has upgraded to a proper peck. So i've tapped him on the bill. Seems to have worked !

My ducks like many others love to nibble and check everything when they're younger. They tend to do it less when they're older. The difference is when they're happy vs displeased being held - one is a light nibble, the other is a "I'm trying to actually hurt you" nibble. Neither really hurts but ya know, usually the response to the latter is to set them down to go on their waddly way.
