Okay! I have finally done the first lesson for CloFroDifTaPlaces.
CFDTP
Lesson 1
16th century/Tudor(upper-class)
As many of you are aware, I really like tudor stuff. So, the obvious choice for me is to do my first lesson on something I love.
Women:
Women usually had long hair, but they hid it under their hoods.
Common hoods:

The french hood(top left) was attached with pins. The other three were either attached with pins or used over a coif. The coif was also sometimes worn by itself. The french hood was made popular by Anne Boleyn, but was made illegal by Jane Seymour. However, after Jane Seymour's death, it soon came back to court.
Their dresses were very elaborate and expensive. One of the fashions was the very expensive sable fur. Neck ruffles became more popular towards the later 16th century. Here are some examples of sleeves:

Tighter sleeves were more popular during the early 1500's, they later became unfashionable.
They wore corsets that gave them a shape similar to an upside-down triangle.

Numbers 1 and 2 were the most common and were popular throught the era. The 3rd, however was not as common, but still quite interesting. I'm pretty sure there is a portrait of Lady Jane Boleyn wearing one somewhere.

The most common style was to have a normal skirt with a skirt that split at the front over it. There were also just plain skirts. The triangular place where the skirt meets the upper bit(Like the one I drew. I can't explain it very well) was more popular towards the later 16th century. Before that, it was just plain and flat.
Men's:
I'm not very good at any men's clothing, but here are some of my attempts:

There is a link to a page that explains men's clothing better below.
*Please note that all of the clothing in the pictures has been simplified greatly, so that you can see the general shape of things*
