Lesson 1: The face(part 1)
The face, to me, is the most important part of anime. It shows emotion, and is one of the main ways you can tell if somethings anime or not. So, how do you draw it?
Eyes:
The eyes are very important. They centered are at the exact middle of the face. I know this seems as though that would make the forehead too big, but it doesnt, if you do it properly. Eyes usually have highlights in them. You can make up eyes as you go.
Here are some simpler eyes:
And more complicated ones:
Mouth:
Mouths show emotion well. Like the eyes, just make it up, you will find out what works and what doesnt.
Sorry about the terrible picture, but here are some examples:
Nose:
The nose is the easiest part. The people who have submitted their art need no help with this. I dont have examples, sorry.
Two drawings I did(step by step):
Picture 1, what I used to do, it takes less time than picture 2:
The eyes in picture 1 are too high, I know.
Picture 2, which I usually would do, The lines on the face make me feel pro:
These pictures aren't exactly my "greatest works". But you get the general idea.
We will do hair next week!
Assignment 1:
Draw at least 3 different kinds of eyes, mouths and noses. Do one face, with no hair, focusing on the features. You can take photos step by step, like mine, or just the finished picture, you choose! If you want more to do, PM me!
