NNEBF Basket Show & Swap August 8th Farmington, ME Fairgrounds

a basket show is just "show up with the birds you want to show and enter". it used to have something to do with people making baskets for eggs or maybe bringing their chickens in baskets to show, no one I have asked really knows how that got started.
you signup at the show to enter and your birds have to be tested for NPIP (typhoid or something) they are doing testing at the show if you have not already done it and it's $10 for your group of birds and testing is good for one yr. any new birds you add have to be tested or from flocks that are tested and birds under 1 yr do not need to be tested but have to come from tested flocks.
editted to add: there is also an auction after the show for "general items including birds" and a sales area of birds at this basket show.

This is a very casual event, a one day get together, not a show like the fairs or a pointed show.

You show up, enter birds by filling out a form and paying a small entry fee.

Things usually wind down about 2 pm after socializing, selling, swaping and exhibiting birds that we enter and we all go home
