it just stops it from getting infectedI think it's the same thing Kiwi has.
Don't worry, her adult feathers are just struggling to come out, she should be okay.
When Kiwi went to the vet, she was prescribed some CHLORHEXIDINE.
It's this red stuff that you dilute with water until it's pink and apply to her neck 2 times a day
I hope so!!I think it's the same thing Kiwi has.

It should have healed quickly is right but it is getting worse.Yes, twice daily if you can. Once a day at the very minimum. The wound should heal quickly if kept moist.
We don’t live near water- would neosporin work or does it need to be vaseline? It should have healed quickly is right but it is getting worse.
Do you live near water? Is it still a pinhole size or is it an open wound? It's getting worse so it is infected. A wound like this should have scabbed already.
If you live near water please treat for fly worm larvae. Here is a list from University of Utah of known species in your area.

Treatment is easy even if it's a wrong diagnosis. Even if it's a 0.5% chance of worm larvae, suffocate it with a dab of vaseline and pull it out with tweezers if you see the head pop out. I pray for you OP that it is ok.
That's good news. Just keep it clean then. Do you have an oral antibiotic? We don’t live near water- would neosporin work or does it need to be vaseline?
I don’t. I’ve been trying to figure out what I could use- but no successThat's good news. Just keep it clean then. Do you have an oral antibiotic?
