After getting supposedly fertile eggs and letting my 2 Broodies set on them I get -- nothing. Last night was Day 21 & I saw no changes in any of the 7 eggs and no movement or noise. So I candled them & doesn't seem like ANY of them even started developing. Oh poo!! So now I have ALL the hens locked out of the coop during the day. Hoping this works as I don't have a separate area or pen to put them in.

This won't make them egg bound will it? The 2-3 I still have laying won't hold their eggs in because the coops off limits temporarily? And assuming the eggs WERE fertile what could cause, all 7 not to develop? The Serama has been sitting at least 6 weeks straight and the Silkie about 4.5 weeks.

You're doing the right thing by closing the coop to snap them out of their broodiness. They won't be laying eggs, anyway, if they've been broody, for several days (this would interfere with developing babies). Dip your broodies in cold water, change their environment a little, and place a bright light in their nesting area.

You should have candled these eggs around day 5-7 to look for vessel development. If there was literally nothing in those eggs, they were infertile, whether or not they came from a pen with a roo or whatever else you may have been told. Simply put: the roo didn't mate with the hen those eggs came from recently.
