No bedding in coop?

I was discussing straw bale prices with an acquaintance and they asked me why in the world I was going to put straw on the coop floor.

This kind of threw me for a loop lol I thought it was normal to put bedding down in the coop.

I have a plywood (super heavy duty kind) floor but I know if I don't take care of it it'll start to rot and that is something I certainly don't want to deal with.

Bedding makes it easier to clean, and gives your animals traction. Its more a health and safety thing.

That was basically my excuse. She sure caught me off guard though: "Ummm, because....because....because I want to?"

One word -- SAND. Clean and easy and cheap!
