No Brooders, No Problem

Hoping Egg B is ok. Why don't you think he's ok?

I will be checking back to have a look later on...praying everyone is ok.
I have to run out to the store...but I will post a picture of Egg B and you guys can tell me what you think..

I haven't seen any movement, but I am not an expert. Maybe you guys can shed some light on this for me.

Will post pictures and a video of Egg A later on

We are also city folk - we need to be country folk...but I can't imagine being without the conveniences of the city.

Unfortunately spring is coming and Rover, won't ever be stew, but may not be able to be here much longer after that. The problem is he is so friendly and never hurts anybody...he doesn't challenge you or really do anything bad except for the crowing. In fact, right now he is watching t.v.

Another problem is that he doesn't like the outside at all. I have to coax him out with his favorite snack...and as soon as he is done eating he is back knocking on the glass door. Then we have to let him back in..lol

He is a true house chicken, he lets you dress him (he has a diaper), he hangs out in your lap, and if he hears you laughing in the other room, he laughs..he even laughs at the tv.

It is just the incessant need to make that noise...lol

The babies are actually going to hatch next Monday the 10th, and I am really hoping that she will hatch all three..and if not...I'll be lifting my boob again lol

WOW! A chicken that watches TV! That is hilarious! I would love to see that.

You sound like a really fun person to know. I wish I could meet you in person someday. I bet your life is exciting and you always have a fun story to tell.

How do chicken diapers work exactly? My daughter wanted to try it. LOL But I said I did not want to be washing chicken butts every day. LOL You are far more dedicated than I am. Hats off to you!

Are you able to put the Egg A and Egg B under her now for her to tend them? Or are you going through to Friday so you can have the fill incubating experience for your scientific experiment? I understand both reasonings. I think if it were me I'd be putting them under the Momma hen, but that's just because I think I would be tired of carrying eggs around 24 hours a day. hahaha You are so dedicated. That is wonderful!

I don't know who alluded to it before, but I thought it was the perfect analogy. Maybe at-risk teenagers should try to hatch a chicken egg with body heat too, so they would understand what a full time job parenting really is. It isn't like playing with dolls where you can put the baby back in the box when you're done playing with it. It can be really inconvenient at times! But also very rewarding. And I think the hatch of the baby chick would be a great reward also. I'm really fascinated by this undertaking you have endeavored to accomplish on all levels. It could even be a spiritually healing experience in some ways I think, to care for a new life in such a personal way. I pray the Lord blesses your efforts.

Oh my, this house is a never ending circus...always something new going on

. This isn't our first "experiment". I was cleaning out the fridge the other day and found some pancakes behind the deli meat drawer...at least I think they were pancakes...
sickbyc.gif
lol

Which also led me to wonder how do all sorts of other things get in the fridge that don't belong in the fridge....which then lead me to wonder, who put the pie crust in the cabinet..is it the same person that put the pancakes in the fridge behind everything?...and was it me?
(but that's a story for a different day) lol

Rover is the only one that will wear a diaper, it is like a little harness and it wraps under him and velcros at the top, but doesn't restrict his wings. All we have to do is change out the padding when it gets dirty.

We don't have to clean his but because the bottom is like a pouch. The only reason we ever have to clean him is because of his feet.

I am thinking about giving them to her simply because I want to make sure that she takes to them, because if she doesn't I want to have enough time to get an incubator.

The problem with giving a teenager, I would think, is that it is always an emotional roller coaster. And as we all know sometimes teenagers tend to cry...which raises internal body temperature, hence being under a breast where the temperature is already warmer and humid can soar the temperature up. Which I think wouldn't be good for the egg, or eggs. (Just my opinion)

There are times when it is definitely, how shall I say, inconvenient...but you play the game, pass the eggs

Here's a picture of Egg B, I can't figure it out. I'm not going to give up, I have looked at other pictures and mine looks similar, but I still see no movement..so its just a waiting game now. Let me know what you think of it...

Egg B (Day 13)

Took psycho zombie chicken off her egg to eat and stretch out. She had a nice little breakfast of apple cinnamon oatmeal with crushed black berries, strawberries and greek blueberry yogurt...she ate very well and only pecked me twice...ouch

That's a really cute little psycho fuzzy black cutie for sure.

Maybe baby chicks in the egg are like human babies in the stomach. My first girl didn't kick and wiggle as much as my second one did. My second girl would kick me so hard or stretch out so roughly that I would lose my breath, or sometimes pee myself. Not even joking.

Funny too. My first is a calm, focused kid. My second I have to keep from killing herself at every moment. She tries to climb and jump off of everything, and she runs and dives and kicks and punches and she's always, always full throttle (unless she's sleeping).

Also remember at their age of incubation they don't move around quite as much either all depends on the size of the yolk and air space. I have been doing lots ofIvestigating because off Egg B (eggbert). Usually with incubators they get the ring of death, dont know what happens if they die under the mama...
