Yes! We are rooting for the chicks!!!

Candle and listen for a quiet chirp inside the shell. They may be resting. Its very hard work hatching from what I hear. Read that whole link that bugglesmommy sent. Its VERY thorough on the hatch process and how and when to assist. I got tired just reading the article and fillowing all the links on it!!:jumpy
cheering for your chicks, they still have a great chance to hatch by themselves! <3 <3

DAY #15 MY embryo is active but not cooperating for a pic. Too dark. My Silkie went broody 2 days ago and is sitting on 3 eggs 2 refrigerator and 1 fresh. She isnt real good abt positioning them so they allstay warm tho so I dont know how hers are going to turn out. Helens are keeping nice and toasty! Just wish she would get out of the nest and poo!! She stanks and its runnin out her butt. :sick
Any suggestions? She isnt psycho... I may be able to rinse/wash her butt off and blow dry it

Well, the good news is, today we got two more baby goats! The bad? Their Mommy didn't accept them. She was absolutely oblivious to them. Their mouths were cold, they were limp, and they weren't moving. We wisked them inside, rubbed them dry, and tried to bottlefeed. One of them (The smallest) is still shivering and cold, but alive. The other is mostly warm and dry, and moving. Both still have cold mouths. Prayers please!

The one on the left is the weak one.

Aw they are adorable!!! That is exactly what happened with Luke. His mother was a first time mom and she plopped him out and walked away and refused to acknowledge him. I hope you can get them both strong! Still no change in Lola.

Bad news then good news, neither Egg A or B made it..... B as I suspected quit between 10 and 13 days, Egg A on the other hand had pipped about 3 days ago. I heard the tapping for 2 days no chirping, candled late last night and to no avail, no movement, no response. Although I did not do the " eggtopsy" my niece did (I do not have the stomach for that stuff) and discovered that the chick, though fully intact, had been shrink wrapped and was most certainly not viable. Although disappointing we went into this as you would with any experiment, expecting the worst and hoping for the best.

Here's a couple things we learned for anybody who wants to try this:
#1.......Don't, unless you live an absolutely sedentary lifestyle and you can sit like a huge hen for hours upon hours of your life and be fed grapes and cheese curls by the score!
#2.......You must be able to put you're hands(or someone else's) in your bra
wink.png

#3.......You need a second person, without the second person you don't have enough mobility.
#4.......Be very, very, very large breasted ( I am not) I could feel them way to much, my niece on the other hand did not feel the eggs as much (use your imagination)
lau.gif

#5.......There is plenty of heat and humidity in your bra- don't worry
wink.png

#6.......There's a reason why you don't count your chickens before they hatch! So don't!!!!

Now for the good news, Buttcheek's last egg is doing great! Today is day 17, with any luck

maybe we can get one live chick out of this

. Gonna keep updating and driving you guys nuts!

Last but not least, haven't ruled out trying this again when she's ready to start laying
