No Brooders, No Problem

This has been very interesting! Sorry it didn't all work out. :(

I was just struck by the thought that perhaps a large-breasted, menopausal woman with hot flashes, might make an attempt with this? I'd volunteer, but I'm far too busy at this time & don't think the hubby would stand for it. :p

Patiently waiting for Buttcheek's egg to hatch. :)

Awww, I have been watching also. You were brave to try this.

Sorry about the outcome. Hopefully Buttcheek's egg will hatch!

I wonder if the Increase in temp under BBs butt had anything to do with it, but we have all learned a little. I am so sorry for your losses and am praying BB keeps this last one going and has a good outcome! :hugs

I def don't feel the egg in my bra and am in there changing its position from one side to the other during the day. At night it mainly stays in the middle because I had an incident where it tried to escape from underneath the band of my bra, but still warmed by my body. Scared me to say the least! If I wake in the night I roll it over to change its position. I agree with Beckie...humidity is NOT a problem lol. You may have guessed I am well endowed..you are right. I breastfed and could have fed a calf and my baby!!
My egg is still in my bra and on Day #15
I still have embryonic movement and the body is getting much bigger. It hates the light lol cant blame it!:D

So what is your plan for hatch time?

Darn - still hoping for egg #3. Maybe buttcheeks went broody just so she could show us all how it's supposed to be done

She's gotta show up that butts are better then boobs. Now THAT is a crazy idea.... couldn't sit for 3 weeks.

Ugh, just found one of my chicks mysteriously dead. That one had real potential to. That would have been a heck of a show bird. I removed the larger silkie in case if it got stepped on, though the silkie wasn't THAT much bigger.

I am home 90% of the time so hatch time shouldnt be too complicated. I will just not bury the egg under the boobs lol if its between the boobs the chick will havea chance to breathe and still be warm. I can change bra styles to allow more room between the boobs too lmbo.

I am wondering if Helen's eggs will hatch at the same time as mine ...she is on Day #9. I will keep an eye on hers. In this next week it should be interesting.
My silkie...the momma to ALL the eggs. Went broody and started sitting on eggs 2 days ago. Dang I need a flippin notebook!!

I also have a brooder that needs set up soon. I need to make a trip to TSC for another brooder lamp and new thermometer as well as feeder and another waterer, feed, grit and back up meds. I am going to set up a new nesting system for my big layers and need supplies for that too, but that's another store!!

Aww, so sorry to hear that! Thanks for letting us know, though! I'll be holding my breath over here about Buttcheek's (need explanation on that) eggs!

I knew this question would arise...my daughter named her after a hippogriff from Harry Potter hence the name Buckbeak but in our many, many encounters that we have with her we noticed there seemed to be the same odor emitting from her......She smells like A**! A** in the morning, A** in the evening, A ** EVEN AFTER A BATH!
That's how Buttcheek came to be !

I have to ask, with all due respect, is every chicken mom large breasted except for me?

....lol
I have been married for 30 years in April, am I the only wife that her husband doesn't mind eggs being in her bra?

Maybe there should be a study? :p I've often wondered how many folks with poultry have OCD too, like me. ;)

Rest assured Beckie, you're not alone - they just haven't found this thread yet. ;)
