No Brooders, No Problem

Bwahaha! Is that yogurt face? Love it. I am raising mealworms and hope that becomes self-sufficient. Fingers crossed.

How'd ya guess!?! Lol

I sometimes buy the dried mealworms, but I have to have the kids give them to them to the girls because, although the chickens love them, I find them a little creepy!

I couldn't raise them... I would have to name them and then they couldn't eat them or they'd be so fat they'd be begging for death

CHEEP and PEEPS are doing well eating and drinking. Moving about in the brooder. HELEN is a strict momma! Had to take her and the 2 eggs she is still incubating out of the nest "box". So she doesnt have a COW every time the babies want to leave the nest. Now all is cool. Kids move about well too. Her last 2 eggs are due around the 7th. Hoping they hatch early on the 5th.

I fly to tbe great white frigid north to see my daughter, grandson and many friends for 2 weeks. Cant wait :)

Yep, white silkie chicks. Ornery little things lol Doing well and they are 2 and 3 days old. I lost one of the incubating eggs today. the shell shattered when Helen stepped on it. She was getting after the little ones lol. Wasn't much I could do to save the baby inside the egg. it WAS alive but had no protection. There are 2 babies left due to hatch around Friday the 7th.

It's been a trying few days over here. My goat had her babies the day before yesterday - twins but the next day the smaller baby doe died and I haven't exactly been feeling great.



The little black one is the one I lost. Grunt, the little buck, is doing good.

Hey guys I said I would let you know if one of my girls went broody and one has Milly my white silkie bantam went broody and today is day 21 and we have a PIPPPPP

Whoo I will keep you guys updated!!!! P.s She is sitting on 5 silkie bantam eggs of which I bought from ebay!
