No chicken dinner for you, Mr Possum!

As I was sitting here reading the forum, Thor, my Blue Marans roo, sounded the alarm. ( I knew his big mouth would pay off) I looked out the back door, and what do I see? An opossum walking around in my coop! I ran for the 22 mag, cracked open the back door, and Mr. Possum ate lead.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how the possums are getting in. Thank goodness for the light I keep in my coop. I was able to stand at my back door and see him and shoot him without spooking him off.

Possums are diggers, I would look in out of the way places for a hole or a "ditch" they are squeezing in under.

Hmmm... I will definately inspect around the bottom of the coop again.

Ive been looking and havent seen anything.

Thor was hysterical! The opossum died immediately, but the chickens just went on and on and on. They wanted his corpse OUT of there. I put my boots and gloves on and stomped through the snow and got in there and drug the perp out . LOL

I caught one in the coop while I was in there. Had a stout stick and bludgeoned it to death. What a great feeling.

I had three running around my barn. Two have met thier maker, one got a reprieve. If it should come back, it will be joining the others in possum heaven. Good for you.
