First of all, no internet bullying. I ended up with 2 roosters which is fine, I love them to bits and even syringe fed one in my house for a month a brought it back from death’s door. He he is a happy and thriving little roo now. My issue is that they crow very early, 4-5am and probably about 30 times each. My neighbours are great and havent said a word, but I am considering a no-crow collar just for night time. Daytime crowing is totally fine. It would go on at sunset and come off around 8-9am. I live rural and am allowed roosters so I am doing this purely out of conscientiousness. I am doing my research and have heard that these can be dangerous. Since one of the roos almost died from severe wry neck I am also very cautious. Please let me know your experiences.

How well do you know your neighbors? Would you feel comfortable asking them if it bothers them? I have never used a no crow collar and feel neutral about them for various reasons. I was just offering an alternative solution.
We know our neighbours quite well. I have thought about asking them but I also don’t want to put them on the spot.

If they have a problem with it they will be happy to have the opening to tell you about it. I am biased because I love chickens but if a neighbor approached me about something like that I’d feel happy they thought enough of me to ask. I think you’re fine!

Yes, this is true. I have had the same anxious feeling when we have had people over at night and they have always said they didnt hear a thing so maybe I am just overthinking a bit. I will talk to them. If it is annoying them I will get the collars.
