They are very risky and have caused the death of many roosters/cockerels.
If you can't own a rooster where you are, rehome him.

I have a crow collar on my rooster. I live in a "no rooster" area. I hope to find him a better home after getting a few hatches but I wanted to do black copper olive egger sexlinks over my cuckoo marans.

I have adjusted it many times. The 5 month old remains friendly and allows me to adjust it and make sure its not too tight.

He is very muted when he crows and acts normally otherwise. I do not recommend this unless the bird can be checked often for fit. He occasionally drools water. I take it off when I hold him but his volume is way too loud without it.

The crow collar is just a velcro band. Like a dog collar.
