no egg today and swollen right chest

Okay, so my little oegb hen has layed an egg for the last two days after brooding and raising chicks for more than five weeks. Today I noticed her comb and cheeks are super bright red (they have been more pink). Does anyone know if this is normal after brooding when they start to lay again? Also, her right chest seems bigger than her left and she did not lay an egg today. Just curious. She is not acting like she is in distress at all.

Sounds to me as though she is happy and ate alot today! And A red comb is good I thought, a purple one is not.

has she just been piggin' out and her crop is full? I wouldnt be surprised after all that time spent brooding and rearing. lol

Yes, I think it is food in her crop! And I am assuming the red comb is good, it's just different than it has been so I was wondering if this happens after brooding? Thanks so much for all your posts!
