No eggs at 22 weeks. Could be MY fault!

If they are roaming, could they be dropping eggs in the yard? I know of someone where that happens. Recently, they collected over 30 eggs in a yard hunt. Also, our local feed store recommended putting light in the coop (having them get at least 14 hours per day) and BAM...eggs came! The squatting came a day or two before the eggs. They are tiny but good!

I have checked all over the yard and nothing. I thought about the light but I think I just want to let them naturally do their thing. They can grow and mature through the winter and then start laying in the spring. But the one chicken is really squatting alot now and it's only been a few days that she is doing this so maybe she will lay an egg before it gets too cold out. Thanks for your response I always enjoy learing more about them.
