The LG styro-bator may as well be called the murder-bator. I use one really old and 1 new hovabator both with installed pc fans. I would NEVER crack open an incubated egg without candling it, NEVER. Also, consider dry incubation where NO water is added at all until lockdown. To help keep me from messing too much with the incubator especially during lockdown, I place my lucky blue plaid flannel shirt loosely over the bator and place a flashlight next to it for quick peeks. I have excellent hatch rates with this technique. I don't do shipped eggs, so I have no experience there.
Give em a pep talk.
I am in the same boat. Day 23 with no pip or cheeps.
I went into lockdown with 7 eggs. I suspected 4 were duds but kept them in for a couple of days anyway. on day 21 they looked funny, and I was afraid they were rotten and they would explode. I opened bater fast, misted and took eggs out quickly. They were beginning to rot. Humidity dropped to 55 for a bit and went right back up to high 60s. Temp did get down to 95.6 for a few hours one night during lockdown and then up to 102.
Can I candle Sunday night day 24, or wait until Monday night? Should I float the eggs? The waiting is killing me.
I am kind of bummed about my first hatch....
