No eggs in the summer?

Well, really still no eggs! A random egg every few days, but that's it!

However, I did learn that a friend about ten miles from here lost 8/12 birds! Of the four left, one is a rooster who is missing some tail feathers. Culprit was a fox! Ugh!

Also, learned of a duck just a mile away, snatched by a fox! Ugh!
I also have a fox problem here. I do have Maremma and two other dogs too watch my chickens.
Lost a hen and my Rooster also lost most tail feathers. That was last summer.
My hens stopped laying for a week.

Aww, so now I understand why you instantaneously knew it was a fox! Oh my gosh,!,, I had no idea this could be so prevalent! Thank you! Just need to figure out what to do

I'd confine your birds to coop and run for at least a week...then you will know if they had been laying somewhere else or just not laying.

Free range birds sometimes need to be 'trained'(or re-trained) to lay in the coop nests, especially new layers. Leaving them locked in the coop for 3-4 days to a week can help 'home' them to lay in the coop nests. Fake eggs/golf balls in the nests can help 'show' them were to lay. They can be confined to coop 24/7 for a few days to a week, or confine them at least until mid to late afternoon. You help them create a new habit and they will usually stick with it. ..at least for a good while, then repeat as necessary.
