Babette is a cutie. From my point of view, because I don't have to go on egg hunts, and wonder who is sitting where- it's a cute little scene, her sitting on the eggs while the chickens roost. A part-time broody. LOL

Babs would make a wonderful quacker mommy, she's raised a lot of chicks. But since she thinks she's a chicken she won't let any of the drakes near her, so no fertile eggs.

Babs loves the roos unfortunately....
I went out and candled some eggs last night and removed some that weren't forming or hadn't started but those were forming and alive I left. I just can't bring myself to throw away the little ones that have a chance at hatching.
I also got almost a dozen fresh eggs this morning since I marked all the ones that had been out there in the nests yesterday.

They are determined that is for sure and they know I just can't take their eggs away either. I have "Sucker" in my big letters on my forehead.

I didn't know my 25 week old red sex link was laying.
Till she went missing and didn't come to roost.
I followed her to find 18 eggs under the porch.
I had to prize up a plank to retrieve them.
So naughty... those chickens
