It reminds me of when I was a kid and we would hunt through my grandparents old barn for all the hidden nests. It was like a treasure hunt. It also is a lesson for those of us that are planning and replanning (talking about myself here) our nesting boxes before they even get built. I'm thinking a few 5 galon buckets are looking better and better. LOL

wow thats a lot of eggs.
I have been using empty 5gal. litter buckets as nesting boxes
and hook them on the wall a ft. above the floor they have
a ridge in front where the lid is and it keeps the eggs
from rolling out also the lid bent down
makes a little walk down as the chx hatch.
with wood shavings and permectrin powder mixed in.
to keep the lice etc. away

Well I would be annoyed if I was a hen and someone came and stole my babies everyday. I guess I would look for a hiding spot to lay them instead. And yes it would be somewhere shaded and cool instead of a coop that might be on the warm side. Just teasing
