No eggs yet

I have a Americana hen that is 7 months old but has never laid a egg. she is healthy,eats and drinks normal,very active so wondering why no eggs from her yet...any suggestions?

My Ameraucana did the same thing. She was the last to start laying (started when she was almost 9 months old) out of my 12 hen flock which I raised from day olds. She was timid and wound up at the bottom of the pecking order fairly early on. I believe wholeheartedly that a happy chicken lays eggs and an unhappy one doesn't. After she started laying, she was a 5 egg a week layer for two years then she stopped laying completely, didn't try to brood but was higher up in the order then and still wouldn't lay. After almost four months, she started right back up and has given me her standard 5 for the past two months now. Strange but true!
