Hi stephen are you feeding them any kind of feed besides the food you mentioned. Ducks need a balanced diet and they must be missing something which is probably feed that is formulated for poultry and ducks that lay need extra calcium also in the form of oyster shell or laying feed or crushed egg shells. and have you looked all through the garden for eggs, ducks are really good at hiding them. My Scovys are usually around 8-9 months before they start to lay what breed are you talking about?

I feed them layers pellets, bread and table scraps!they are happy ducks plenty of freedom, food and exercise!they eat our hens eggs but I will look into oyster shells!thanks :)

Well sounds like your doing all you can, also the amount of daylight plays a role so are the days lengthening over in Ireland? And what breed? and have you checked every nook and cranny in your garden it'as amazing when those girls can hide and egg. lol

The drake an 2 ducks are KCs and the other girl is water creasted!ill take a good look round 2day!were just out of winter so their getting around 12 to 15 hours of light!we let them out at 6am an they know to go in when it's dark!it can b 7 to 9 before they go to bed!thanks for the advice I'll let I know if I get any :)

Yep, seems like you're doing things right. KCs are very good layers and should start somewhere around 5-6 months old. At least mine have. If I had to guess I'd go with what others are saying here - they're laying but doing is somewhere you haven't found yet.

Alternately something might be getting the eggs before you do. Have you found anything that looks like a nest? Not all ducks make them but mine do.

My ducks are larger breeds than KC's, and they just started laying about three weeks ago- my rouen hen I got as a baby around last easter, got my pekin holdout hen in july of last year as a baby. My pekin has been laying about three weeks now, my rouen about a week and a half. No eggs at all last year. Both girls were being fed a formulated food last year, but most of what they got was from free ranging our property and out of my gardens. But since both started laying, I've been getting an egg a day from both in one nest depression in their pen so I've been rewarded. Maybe yours just need more time like mine did.

Do you feed your drake layer feed? I know this is not pertaining to your question, but male ducks should not be on a layer feed. Perhaps you can get some all flock or flock raiser and also offer crushed oyster shell in a bowl for the girls so the drake doesn't get too much calcium.

I'm going to have a good thorough check round the garden 2moro!they get fed plenty and watered well so I'll let all u guys know!your al great help :)
