What brand is your turkey starter?Where do you purchase it from(if you don't mind me asking)?

I am in WA State and I get mine from a feed store. It is Nutrena brand, from their line called "Country Feeds". Called "Gamebird". The feed store still interchangeably calls it Turkey Starter because the manufacturer used to call it that. Now the manufacturer calls it "Gamebird".

But here is the insider info that took me a while to work out....you will notice on that link that it says it is 22% protein. Mine has always been 28% and was labeled the same as that one and the bag was exactly the same. Same color label, same photo of birds, etc... I called my feed store and they let me know Nutrena has 2 or 3 versions of this that have different protein levels.....all labeled as the same product. So If I were you, I would ask your feed store...

"What is the highest protein feed you have in crumble format? Probably going to be called Turkey Starter or Gamebird."

If they say they have something that is 21 or 22%, ask them if the supplier has anything higher they can order for you. It could be that they stock the 21/22% version regularly but could easily add a few bags of the higher protein to their next shipment. If their supplier makes it, there is no reason why they could not order it for you.

I picked St. Louis for this search.....

We have had them for for about 8 weeks. They have been outside for 4 week. Yes they have lighting available for most of the day. It's on from about 8am-10pm inside the coop. But we don't force them into the coop if they don't want to be in there.

When i first got my trio of A&M quail, i put them on gamebird feed, the same as above, the first two days i had them, i got an egg each day, after a week of no eggs, i decided to buy layer feed, and after doing a 1:1 ratio starting that afternoon, the next evening i got an egg, and one everyday after that. I now have 3 females and 1 male, i got the two new females saturday, and one is injured, (establishing the pecking order), so i'm not expecting eggs from her anytime soon.

What part of mo?

Check tsc see if they have turkey startena. Any purina dealer should be able to order it.

I have it ordered from a local coop. Now they sell quite a bit.

If you have any mfas close that still have feed Mills they should be able to make it off stock formulas in their computer.

I'm in mo. As well. My cots that I hatched in January I had seperate into 3 pens. 1 pen had solar lighting attached to it. They started laying 2 weeks ago. The pens without light have given me no eggs and the roos weren't crowing. So I put them all in the pen with lights.

I thinking a lot has to do with the messed up weather we have been getting the last month.
