I have 2 flocks. My first flock is 4 buff orpingtons and 3 speckled Sussex and they are 28 weeks old. My second flock is 3 golden laced wyandottes and 2 americauna. My 3 buffs are all squatting and laying. My speckled sussex however are not. Is this normal that they are still not laying? I'm just worried that I am doing something wrong.
It is just that they are slower at maturing. If the orpingtons are laying, your husbandry is adequate.
My Norfolk Greys are just the same, 29 weeks old now, just starting to produce soft shelled eggs, days apart...
